Why Cheepr exists

It started with a friend who paid too much — and had no way to know it.

A close friend of mine bought a game the day it came out, full price, thrilled. Then he found out I'd paid almost 30% less for the exact same game — an official Steam key from a legitimate shop I'd tracked down after some digging online. He wasn't angry. He was just… deflated. He'd have happily saved that money. He simply didn't know where to look.

And here's the part that stuck with me: he speaks French, he's a devoted Steam gamer, and there was no proper place for him — no trustworthy, safe, French-friendly site where he could actually compare where to buy a game and see whether a discount was real. The people who'd benefit most from a good deal were the ones getting left out of it.

That was the spark. In June 2025 I started building Cheepr, alone, evening after evening — a single trusted place to answer one deceptively simple question: where, and when, should I buy this game?

What we stand for

One trusted source for your gaming, wherever you are and whatever you play. Cheepr is built to be multinational, multilingual, and multi-currency from the ground up — because a great deal shouldn't depend on speaking English or living in the right country.

We track prices across stores and keep a real history of accepted price changes over time. That means a "sale" on Cheepr is measured against what a game actually sold for before — not a manufactured "was" price designed to make a discount look bigger than it is. When we point you to a shop, the goal is simple: reputable, safe, and worth your trust.

Today Cheepr covers PC, with Steam as our first and most important catalog and more stores already flowing in. The mission goes further — PC and consoles, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo — so that one day, whatever and wherever you play, there's a single place you can trust to find the best price.

Data accuracy

Prices are pulled directly from each store and refreshed regularly, but store prices can change faster than we can observe them. Always confirm the final price on the store's own page before buying.

How we make money

Cheepr doesn't run ads or sell your data. No affiliate programs are active yet — outbound store links are plain today. As affiliate partnerships are approved, some outbound links may become affiliate-tagged, earning Cheepr a small commission at no extra cost to you — and it never changes which stores we show, how we rank them, or the price you see.
