Ever since the days of the steam era ended, enthusiasts have kept the fire alive through the hard efforts of preservation. The LMS Jubilee Class is no exception, with a quartet of kettles still surviving to this day in various conditions.

One such condition is “mainline certified”, granting the workhorses of yesteryear the chance to freely roam once again on the UK national rail network. To facilitate this, mainline certified steam locomotives, including 45596 and 45690 Jubilees, are retrofitted with modern safety equipment.

Alongside the preserved Jubilee Class, proudly wearing BR Maroon and BR Black liveries, is a suite of equally preserved Mk1 coaches in both Maroon and Blood & Custard liveries, offering a long-lost view out the window to serve both nostalgic and enthusiastic tastes.

The West Cornwall Steam Railtour Add-On brings a series of scenarios and services to the challenging Penzance - St Austell route. Experience the Jubilee Class away from the 1950s, as it is in more recent years, thanks to preservation. Re-kindle holiday memories with the Christmas train, dressed in festive fairy lights! With Scenario Planner, take the steam railtour action to whichever route you like.
