Captain of Industry - Trains expanded

Supercharge your train logistics network with the power of electricity, or even nuclear energy. Modernize your railway fleet with five new high-tech locomotives, build electrified rail infrastructure, and transport molten resources with specialized wagons.

New to the game? Trains are already part of the base game. This DLC adds advanced, late-game locomotives and infrastructure. You can enjoy the game without it and add it at any time, including to an existing save file. You will typically reach this content after about 30-50 in-game hours.

New content

Expand your depot with five new locomotives, each filling a different strategic role:

• Electric locomotive (tiers 1 & 2) - No refueling needed as long as the track is electrified. Electrified track costs more to build and requires extra vertical clearance for the overhead wires, but once in place your trains run without interruption.
• Fire-less steam locomotive (tier 1) - Runs on pressurized steam alone, making it the simplest locomotive to fuel. However, its low power and limited range mean it is best suited for short shuttle routes.
• Gas turbine locomotive (tier 2) - A jet engine on rails! The fastest and one of the most powerful locomotives in the game, but its fuel gas consumption is heavy. Pair it with an optional tender wagon to extend its range.
• Nuclear locomotive (tier 3) - A massive three-car unit that can run for years on a single load of uranium fuel rods, delivering immense pulling power. The ultimate feat of engineering, arriving with a dedicated refueling station.
• Molten materials wagon and station - Optimize your supply chain for molten materials by separating production and consumption with rail transportation in between.
