Ground Water - Episode of Dhanra

A hand-crafted short narrative platformer about squeezing and a quest to forge freedom. Follow Roshi's venture through the conflicts of Dhanra Village as a part of his journey to find a cure for the curse on his home. Navigate through winding paths and tactile environments that help express Roshi's potent squeeze and vessels. 

This is Episode One of the Ground Water saga: a standalone story that introduces the world and its mysteries while setting the stage for what’s to come.

Piraiya and Squeeze

Ground-Water is set in a world inhabited by a sentient species known as the piraiya. With a peculiarly simple anatomy, their bodies are essentially vessels filled with water. They move primarily by sliding and perform all actions by squeezing their bodies to create and release tension within the water they contain.

Roshi and His Vessels

Roshi, the freedom-seeking protagonist, is a young piraiya discovering how altering the shape of his vessel can lead to diverse behaviors and interactions with the world around him.

Tall - Light on landing but a strong head bump.

Square - Lands and jumps off like a champ.

Wide - Lands to kill the ground.

Tactile Environments

Roshi’s versatility is matched by the equally adaptable and tactile environmental elements that players can interact with in diverse ways. These elements are integrated into intricately designed areas with paths that branch, merge, and intertwine, allowing players to craft their own unique gameplay stories and moments.

Conflicts and Characters Of Dhanra

This short gripping venture takes Roshi through Dhanra Village, a fabled stronghold of warriors and protectors of the valley. The village is home to colorful characters and enemies, each vibrant in their aesthetics, mechanics, and personalities. These characters drive a narrative that delves into how their capabilities and techniques spark conflicts, examining the interplay of duty, risk, control, and freedom that arises from these interactions.
