- A powerful and versatile magic system that allows the player to create innumerable magical effects through the creative use of the spell words.
- A dungeon-crawling game in which the player explores several different dungeons on the Plane of Shadows, a misty, dark, and somber place.
- Dozens of different items to collect on the different runs.
- Hordes of enemies, but some friendly NPCs.
- Procedurally-generated dungeons. Every run is different.
- Turn-based, grid-based, combat.
- Permadeath.
- Learn new spell words as you explore the Plane of Shadows, unlocking more uncommon and interesting combinations for spells.
