Agent of Strange: Arrival

This is the first chapter of Agent of Strange — an upcoming story-driven RPG from the creators of the award-winning 'The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante', set in a mysterious early XX-century city.

Take on the role of a Conspirator in a desperate struggle against the monstrous Traum Family. Enter the cold, wintry city of Brocken, a surreal place that turns more and more inhumane every day. Build the Conspiracy's plan and prepare the coup to overthrow the Traum regime. Every step of your way will shape the City's fate. But the greatest stake is always your own soul.

In this Prologue, you will start your path as a Conspirator and make your way to the City of Brocken, where the main part of the game will take place.

• Craft your own hero. Your character's lifepath will be created inside the game's story, through choices and events of your past. You will not simply pick abilities — you form your hero's entire personality, morals and inner struggles.

• Return from exile. Long time ago, you were thrown away from your home town of Brocken. But now one enigmatic phone call changes everything. You are not alone anymore — there is a Conspiracy, and they need you back in the City. Follow their lead to fight your way home.

• Escape the manhunt. The Traum Family is on your trail! Survive the tense chases, ambushes and psychic attacks on your soul while trying to get on the last train to Brocken… alive and sane!

• Break into the City. To infiltrate the sealed City of Brocken, you must use all your wit. Learn to hide, deceive and evade both your enemies and ordinary citizens. Dare to enter the nightmarish and corrupted place that your home town turned to. Throw down your first challenge to the Traum regime. Time has come to take your home back.

Only you decide who your Conspirator is — hardened veteran or decadent artist, upstanding citizen or lowlife criminal, leader or loner, idealist or pragmatist. There is no 'right' way to play — you always have freedom to behave as you see fit.

Every mission is a sandbox of approaches and solutions. Fight, sneak, manipulate, explore, investigate, find surprising possibilities. Use your strongest skills and unique traits to carve your own path through any situation. And no matter how hard the task at hand is—there's always a chance.

You enter the living society, wearing the mask of an ordinary citizen — a clerk, a worker, a student. The City may see you in a very different way: as a law-abiding person, a weird deviant.. or as a threat.

Your appearance, social class, and behavior all matter—the City and its inhabitants react to who you are, how you look, and what you've done before. And most of all: how strange you are…

You are facing the power far greater than you. Direct conflict with the Traum regime is always dangerous and lethal, and violence always has a heavy price.

But in every confrontation, you can take one of many different paths. Resolve conflicts through combat, persuasion, deception, or avoidance.

Rely on skills and abilities that fit your character the best. And remember: there are no conflicts without consequence.

The game deals with themes and problems that plague the modern society from XX century to our own era.

Agent of Strange invites you to explore some of the most severe and terrifying questions of our times. How does one stay human in an inhumane society? Why things that used to be monstrous are now becoming the norm? And can the broken world be put back together ever again?

Noone knows what your character's story will prove. Answers will be only yours.
