Time to truly experience America’s busiest commuter railroad in Train Sim World®! Return to Long Island and delve deep into an enhanced New York – Hicksville route, now including the Long Beach branch, new lighting and skies, overhauled signalling, and an all-new bustling timetable making use of key LIRR traction, including the state-of-the-art M9!

We’ve been working closely with the licensor to bring you an immersive, but safe representation of the route. This means there are a few adjustments to the experience, including Safety Systems (ATC, ACSES & Alerter) being always enabled. As one of two important networks owned and operated by the MTA, the Long Island Rail Road stretches east out of the bustling New York metropolis from 2 key terminals; Atlantic and New York Penn. Serving on average a quarter of a million passengers a day, it’s easily North America’s busiest commuter railroad, with many services per hour, and also the USA’s oldest, having been in continuous operation since 1834.

Embark on a variety of passenger services with the LIRR’s all-new M9 equipment, and the staple LIRR M7, from the Big Apple, through the complex Jamaica Station, and out onto the Long Beach and Hempstead lines, as well as the main line to Hicksville. With a new timetable and an extended 57-mile network, this makes for a much more engaging and realistic experience.

The route is as immersive as can be with the new volumetric skies, clouds and fog, as well as snow and rain effects, bringing a new atmosphere to the city that never sleeps. All aboard for New York with Train Sim World®: LIRR Commuter!

While not a requirement, it is recommended to own Train Sim World®: LIRR M3 EMU as it is compatible with LIRR Commuter.
