Serving a vast population in this area the line was created to reduce travel time between Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province, and Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi province. The line is known for its exceptional speed, with modern units travelling up to 350 km/h, and picturesque scenery as passengers travel between stations.
