Your Painting, Sir

In Your Painting, Sir you recreate paintings by finding similar looking images in a newspaper. Cut them out carefully, and place them on a canvas.

You are the trustworthy butler of a wealthy art collector, who orders you to buy expensive art pieces at an auction. When you oversleep, and miss the auction, you fear that it will be the end of your job. But your boss is old, and his eyesight terrible. Using a newspaper the old-timer can barely read, you muster your arts and crafts skills to recreate the painting as accurate as possible.

First, you select one of the paintings you want to recreate. The butler draws a simple sketch, with the key objects missing. Compare the painting with the sketch to figure out what you will need to add yourself.

Next, you go to the newspaper and search for a picture that resembles one of the missing objects. This can be a literal match, like an apple for an apple, but other times you will need to find a picture that resembles the object in another way, with a similar look or shape.

Finally, you carefully cut out the object, and place it on the canvas. You want to make sure to cut it out neatly, or else the plan might fail. Once you have placed all the objects, you will be ready to show it to your boss. Will he be tricked by your creation?
