About this game

What this game is, in the developer's words

Aether Oblivion is a story-driven, tactical turn based strategy game set in 2490 during the rule of the Stellconian Empire. Command your fleet, manage resources, and lead High Admiral Caelus on his mission to uncover the conspiracy behind the late Emperor's demise.

Story:

It has been 214 years since the end of the AI War and 11 years since the end of the Corporatist War. The Stellconian Empire is at peace, but the Emperor is dying.

Sensing danger to the Empire at a critical juncture, Emperor Takeda has ordered High Admiral Caelus out of retirement for reasons as yet unknown. You are High Admiral Caelus. You must do the Emperor’s bidding.

May the Creator’s Blessings be upon you, Admiral.

Gameplay:

-Aether Oblivion is inspired by the titles Battle for Wesnoth, Stratego Waterloo, Battlestar Galactica Deadlock, and XCOM Enemy Unknown / Enemy Within.

-Players will recognize tactical gameplay similar to Wesnoth with the meta strategy elements of XCOM.

-Make tactical and strategic decisions based on imperfect information - all in a sci-fi capital-ship setting.

-Explore a branching campaign of up to 30 possible missions and 12 different endings based on player decisions and performance.

-Manage funds and fleet purchases from a roster of over 30 units.

-Keep yourself and the crew of your Corvette, The Antoinesse alive. (Or don’t and find out what happens)

-Your choices can affect personal relationships. Do try not to get assassinated…

-Balance pragmatism and ethics while facing various moral dilemmas and unraveling nefarious plots within the Empire.

-Enjoy a deep storyline with visual novel style mission briefings as well as voice-acted journal entries inspired by the likes of Myth 2: Soulblighter.

-Single player skirmish mode vs the AI or human via 1v1 hotseat.

-Tug of War mode vs AI or human opponent. Compete across a series of connected battles where each victory shifts momentum toward ultimate victory in the war.
