About the Game

Cats ruled the internet for decades.

Then capybaras won the hearts of millions and Ophelia took it personally.

Capyverse Odyssey is a co-op action roguelite for 1-4 players that sees a crew of wholesome heroes battle through increasingly absurd worlds and ending up with out of control loadouts across a series of short, unpredictable runs.

ENTER THE CAPYVERSE

For a long time, cats were the internet’s favorite animals. For Ophelia, a cat who rules a kingdom powered by attention and adoration, this arrangement was working pretty well.

Then capybaras went viral.

Now Ophelia is losing her grip on the spotlight, and she’s willing to twist worlds into increasingly bizarre versions of themselves just to stay relevant.

The only ones who can stop her are Capy and a crew of wholesome animal heroes fighting through surreal worlds, bizarre enemies, and chaos that somehow keeps escalating.

Good thing everyone has jetpacks.

EVERYBODY GETS A JETPACK

You want a jetpack? You’ve got it. Standing still isn’t really something that happens a lot in Capyverse Odyssey. Instead, you and your crew will be taking to the skies and fighting off haunted slot machines, killer clowns, and more from whichever angle works best. Stop moving for too long and an aggressive suitcase might make you regret it.

ADORABLE BUT SOMEHOW DEADLY

With support for up to four players, you’ll each take control of one of four wholesome heroes. Each of them is adorable, but somehow they’re all also pretty deadly, even if they don’t look it.

  • Capy - Comes from an ancient, peace-loving civilization of advanced capybaras. He’s pretty chill but he’s got a job to do.

  • Moody - Built like a tank and fights like one too. A hippo that has definitely seen some wild things but will not talk about them.

  • Jim - Fast, aggressive and only possibly house-trained. Often more chaos than dog.

  • Axie - Who doesn’t love an Axolotl that is prepared to support their whole team? Probably doesn’t get enough credit.

No matter what squad you end up with, you’ll be fighting through surreal worlds and stacking up character builds that start out ‘a little weird’ and end up as ‘truly ridiculous and a little alarming’.

THINGS WILL GET OUT OF HAND AND THAT’S OK

Each run is a series of maps with different objectives - things like zone defence, elimination arenas, mini-boss fights and more - and the chaos builds with every new world you encounter.

Every map cleared adds a new layer - power-ups stack, wearables boost your stats and by the time you reach the end of a run, your build that started simple has become complete chaos.

AND IT ONLY GETS WEIRDER

With each new world you visit, you’ll see something new and surreal. From an oversized casino with hostile playing cards and ATMs that can really do some damage, to a nightmare carnival with a giant clown that launches bumper cars, things start strange and only get bizarre - and we haven’t even mentioned the weaponized golf cart yet.

FEATURES

  • Jetpack capybara action. Always airborne, always moving, and always about three seconds from something exploding.

  • Play solo or with friends. Full 1-4 player online co-op. Coordinate your character’s abilities or embrace the chaos, it’s your choice.

  • Four wholesome heroes. Pick your favorites but don’t let Ophelia hear you.

  • Build-stacking progression. Earn power-ups and wearables after every map. Stack upgrades across the run until it feels like it might be broken, then stack a little more.

  • Objective-based maps. Something new every time, from zone defence to mini-boss fights.

  • Short, replayable runs. Drop in, stack your build, create some chaos. Easy to pick up, hard to put down after just one run.

  • Borderline unhinged enemies and worlds. Corrupted casinos, deadly wastelands, killer clowns, exploding suitcases and much more.

  • A battle for the spotlight. A cat that can’t handle not being the center of attention and making it everyone else’s problem.
