About this game
What this game is, in the developer's words
Lead your nation through the chaos of the Thirty Years’ War. Recruit historical generals, manage pike-and-shot armies, and keep faith and gold in balance.
At the dawn of the 17th century, Europe is fracturing. France and the Habsburgs are locked in a struggle for continental dominance. Catholics and Protestants are clashing across Germany. New powers, such as England, the Dutch Republic and Sweden, are emerging.
In the middle of all this, one word matters above all else: survive.
Recruit armies led by historical commanders and lead pitched battles and long sieges across a burning Europe. Gold alone is not enough to keep your forces united: you will discover that faith and religious doctrine play a fundamental role in the survival of your nation.
Key Features:
Over 100 recruitable historical generals such as Albrecht von Wallenstein, Count of Tilly and Gustavus Adolphus
Manage your National Politics and Zeal to secure the loyalty of your generals and the support of nobility without provoking popular dissent, rebellions and mutinies
Deep army management, including recruitment and supply of large battle stacks
Interactive and historical events, including the Jülich Succession War, the Bohemian Revolt, the Sack of Magdeburg, the Rise of the English Commonwealth and much more
Multiple campaign scenarios, including different start dates: 1608, 1618, 1630
An original economic management system based on gaining the favor (and money) of the major financial and trade centers of the period.
