Cards and Creatures is a card battling, creature collecting roguelike that aims to combine some of the most beloved genres in the industry.

Collect creatures and level them up between runs, but be careful with the moves you make, since once your creature perishes, they're gone forever and cannot be brought back. Each run will involve you selecting a team of creatures from your camp and finding cards that will allow you to form a strategy to take you as far as possible.

Try to defeat the leader of each of the five locations during a run in order to earn the chance to defend your country from the evil corporation trying to take over!





Use elements to your advantage:

• Each card and creature has an element(s) associated with them. You can only play cards that match one of your active creature's elements.
  
• Cards can also apply elemental tokens to creatures that will have positive or negative effects on them such as an attack buff or damage over time.
  
• Elements are strong/weak against other elements. Using a card whose element is strong against the opponent creature's element will deal extra damage!
  
• Switch between creatures based on what you think your opponent is going to do.

Multi-phase turn system

• Turns are split into multiple "phases".
  
• At the beginning of phase 1 of a turn, both players' energy is restored and both draw a new hand of cards.
  
• When the subsequent phases start, both players draw 1 card.
  
• At the end of the last phase of a turn, both players discard the rest of their hand into their discard pile.
  
• Both players play their cards simultaneously during a phase and the order in determined by whose active creature has the highest speed.

An evil corporation is trying to take over the country to profit from it with absolute disregard for the land and its inhabitants. The leader of this corporation has successfully become the governor which has given him complete control over the laws and decision making.

You wake up one day in a hospital with amnesia. The layout of the land seems unfamiliar and there are goons invading peoples' homes and livelihoods. You hear about the evil corporation attempting to take over and decide to take action against them.

The only way to earn the right to challenge the leader of the corporation for the position of governor is by successfully beating the leader of each of the five locations. But it won't be easy, in order to face each of the leaders, you'll need to prove your worth by eliminating a certain amount of criminal activity within their location.





Your creatures are your companions. They persist between runs, level up, evolve, and are your greatest tool in taking your land back!

• Elements - creatures start off in their base forms with one element and when they evolve, might gain a second.
  
• Stats - values for a creature's attack, defense, and speed that impact how they perform in battle.
  
• Inclinations - attributes that creatures might have that enhance one stat while lowering another.
  
• Abilities - each creature will have an ability that gives them a certain edge in battle.
  
• Fears - creatures may have certain fears, such as a fear of fire, that will affect their behaviour either in or out of battle.
  
• Held items - these are items that the creature can hold that will give them certain effects in battle, such as being able to use cards not of their type, heal, gain extra energy, etc.
