This means that you need to click on this person to find out what they are saying. Text appears below. If you point the mouse at a person and the mouth does not appear, then you need to find an object that you need to click on. When you point the game mouse at such an object, a hand will appear. After that, you need to click on this object. You need to read all the dialogues of the characters to understand the meaning of the detective story.
