The T24 is an experimental American machine gun designed as an adaptation of the MG 42 to use .30-06 Springfield ammunition. The updated T24 retained the main advantages of the original design while achieving a more balanced rate of fire. It excels at short and medium ranges. The weapon uses a belt-fed system with 100 rounds of .30-06 Springfield ammunition.
