Escape the Baby Alarm

Escape the Baby Alarm is a cozy, escape room-inspired puzzle game that explores the chaos and love of becoming a new parent. Built from my own experience of entering parenthood, it captures a time defined by love, connection and extreme sleep deprivation, questionable hygiene standards, and the sudden ability to function on exactly 2% battery while holding a baby in one hand and a cold cup of coffee in the other.

The game unfolds like a living comic book, with hand-drawn scenes where players solve imaginative, visually integrated puzzles that reflect both the daily struggles and small, absurd joys of parenthood. From juggling constant interruptions and rice stuck under your socks, to navigating situations that are both ridiculous and deeply familiar, the experience blends humour, warmth, and emotional honesty.

The puzzles range from the practical to the emotional - like avoiding getting sunscreen on your toothbrush while trying to find the toothpaste, searching for your shoes in the fridge, or smashing a box of chocolates in pure exhaustion-fuelled frustration.

Other moments challenge you to use logic to navigate the endless stream of advice given to new parents, where every tip feels like a puzzle piece from a different box, none of them quite fitting together, yet all of them insisting they are essential. And sometimes, the puzzle isn’t about solving anything at all, it’s about letting go. Putting things down, stepping back, and finding the moment where you allow yourself to breathe, feel, and simply be.

The story is about how becoming a parent changes you, and the process of your own rebirth. It’s about letting go of your old identity and slowly finding strength in a new, expanded, slightly more exhausted but also more resilient version of yourself.

And somewhere between the puzzles, the panic, and the mystery of how snacks end up in every pocket you own, you start to realise something simple: you are enough. And you will actually be just fine (even if the baby monitor says otherwise).
