The sacred sites include:
Ranganathaswamy Temple: This holy Hindu site was built by the Chola rulers of Southern India on ground that had been sacred for thousands of years.
St. Peter's Basilica: The holiest temple in Catholicism, this church is the seat of the Pope in Rome.
The Kaaba: This Islamic location is the religious center of Mecca, and the destination of Muslims performing the sacred duty of pilgrimage.
Mahabodhi Temple: Built in Bihar by the emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE, this Buddhist temple is a symbol of the ruler’s turn away from war and conquest.
