About this game

What this game is, in the developer's words

Your survivors will bond, break under pressure, and make memories together. Your choices will guide their fate in a post-apocalyptic tactical RPG. Explore the secrets of the outside world through high-stake encounters. Unlock new ways to play, and try again. Find your way to rebuild human society.

Lead, bond, and survive in a character-driven tactical RPG set in the wake of an alien apocalypse.

Grey Legend: Survivors will place you in control of a band of survivors in a post-apocalyptic, violent world. Beyond the tactical combat lies a deep social simulation: your survivors operate on individual beliefs and personal goals. Manage evolving relationships, navigate "fun chaos," and keep your squad’s emotional states in check as you scavenge the mysteries of a collapsed world. Every choice is a step toward salvation, or a slide into demise.

Twenty years after the alien-triggered collapse, as the invaders above retrofit their mothership for landing, every tactical decision and tragic loss leaves a permanent mark on the psyches and relationships of the survivors fighting to rebuild.

Grey Legend: Survivors features deep player generated characters that are more than just skills and needs. They are guided by deep simulation of personality which makes them act differently based on their personality, internal motivation and mood. Procedurally generated dialogue always carries gameplay impact and sparks life to the game in a way not seen before.

For example, a survivor fascinated by lost technology might have bored a work partner with death with all possible details and stories on the topic. Later on that other person might themselves be able to recognize a lead for finding such technology on an expedition. This new quest would not have been available without letting those two work on a daily task together and dive deeper into that discussion. And the quest, when successful, allows your survivors and base access new technology, which will also carry over to subsequent playthroughs.

At the heart of this game is your own band of survivors. They have personalities to take into account. Stress, tedious tasks and dangerous situations affect them differently, based on who they are and what makes them wake up in the morning. The question you need to ask yourself though is, how you want the group dynamics to be.

Let a couple of survivors always work together on tasks in the base? They form a tight relationship, but might not care for other people in a tough situation.

Risk the life of your favorite character to save a new member of the community? If they both survive, they could bond and become an unwavering pair in combat.

Try to optimize each survivors existing skills by assigning them to duties that they already excel in? Losing one of these specialists when the infected attack leaves your group without crucial skillset to survive.

Especially with these social dynamics in play your plans for the playthrough might not always work out. Failing is always an option as each play-through unlocks more mysteries, more items, more things to research and even new bases of operation.

In the game you're in charge of half a dozen survivors as you try to save the better bits of human civilization before knowledge is lost to oblivion. While getting to know and managing your survivors, the game is divided to three interconnected layers in which the character management mechanics is the key element.

Base building as your safe haven.

Expeditions to explore lost human and alien technology.

Tactical missions to survive when risk-taking brings consequences.

Managing the needs, emotions and interpersonal relationships of your survivors

Building and upgrading your base with new workstations, research facilities, leisure activities and more...

Researching human technology to unlock new opportunities for your survivors

Researching alien technology to explore alien mysteries and finding ways to combat the infected

Story events and some unlocked technology will carry over to subsequent playthroughs

Producing better gear for your survivors

Handling interpersonal chaos as emotions rise and friendships are formed and broken

Seeing the consequences of that chaos in conflicts against the aliens, the infected and other survivors

Handling trade, diplomacy and feuds with other human settlements
