Hardwood Basketball Manager is a basketball simulation where you build and manage a professional franchise. Set detailed tactics for every possession, scout prospects through the Foundry draft combine, negotiate trades and free agent signings, and watch it all unfold in a 2D tactical visualizer.
What happens between games shapes the games themselves. A living,
league-wide news feed tracks storylines across every competition.
Off-court events driven by player personalities stir up locker-room
drama. Award races build tension through the season. Every system -
morale, stats, relationships, tactics, finances - feeds into the next.
And the world keeps growing. Beneath the top flight sits a fully
playable development league: take a dev-club job of your own, or
co-manage it as your affiliate, calling players up, sending them down,
and signing two-way deals to bridge the two. Every July the whole
league runs the Hardwood Heat, a summer showcase for young talent.
Every player carries a full career history: where they were drafted,
what they've won, and every roster move they've made.
Fully moddable from day one, with Steam Workshop integration. Replace
rosters, add headshots, design team logos, and rewrite commentary -
then go deeper and reshape the leagues themselves: game rules, finances,
roster rules, development-team identities, and award names, all through
simple JSON.
