About this game

What this game is, in the developer's words

Fight an endless onslaught of foes in this minimalist wizard survival roguelike. Each loop makes you AND the horde stronger. How many loops can you survive? Ascend the global leaderboards to claim your glory!

LoopMage is coming to Next Fest! Win a copy by playing!

Steam Next Fest is just a week away, and I'm proud to say that LoopMage will be joining the party! I already put my demo out there, so there's no need to wait if you want to play, but being in Next Fest is such a huge moment for a solo dev releasing their first game. It means the world to me to see how many people out there have already tried the demo out, and I hope even more of you will give it a shot during Next Fest!

Of course, I know LoopMage will be one of many, MANY, roguelikes competing for your time during Next Fest, so I decided to add a little incentive to get you to choose mine. Anyone who plays my demo (even before Next Fest) and gets one of the top 3 spots on the global leaderboard by the end of Next Fest (March 2) will win a FREE COPY of the full game on release!

Play the free demo, win a free game. Sounds pretty good to me!

The competition has been going on for a few weeks already, so here are the current standings so you know what you're up against to win yourself a copy:

1. Midwestgameguy: 7,506
2. Tiz: 7,209
3. Kristy: 5,096

Think your roguelike skills can get you to the top of the leaderboard? I look forward to seeing who comes out on top when the competition ends on March 2!

LoopMage is coming to Next Fest!

I’m proud to announce that LoopMage: The Infinite Trails will be participating in Steam Next Fest this month! But you don’t have to wait if you want to play, because the demo is out right now!

Not only that, but I’m making it host a little competition! The people with the top 3 high scores on the leaderboard by the end of Next Fest (midnight on March 2 EST) will win a copy of the full game when it releases! All you need to do is Wishlist the game, play the demo, and rack up as many points as you can before the demo ends!

The demo lets you play four loops, with the full game being infinite (or until you finally lose), with Steam Deck and controller support already implemented!

Winners will be contacted via their Steam accounts on March 3 to let them know they won!

Set a high score in the LoopMage demo and win a copy!

Think you’re a roguelite wizard? I released the demo for LoopMage and figured I would embrace the high-score-chasing nature of the game and host a little competition! The people with the top 3 high scores on the leaderboard by midnight on March 2 (EST) will win a copy of the full game when it releases! All you need to do is Wishlist the game, play the demo, and rack up as many points as you can before the demo ends!

LoopMage Releases March 9!

LoopMage: The Infinite Trials will launch on March 9, 2026!

At long last, I can proudly state that my very first game dev project will be released on Steam in just a few months. For years, I’ve dreamed about creating my own game, and now it’s about to become a reality.

When I first set my mind to creating a game, I wanted to create something that was focused, fun, and unique. My biggest inspirations were other indie games that focused on a few core mechanics rather than attempting to be too broad.

That’s how I settled on the idea of a roguelite, but knew it needed a twist to stand out from the crowd. One of the most addictive aspects of the genre is choosing which of the randomly presented upgrades to take to build each run, but I hadn’t seen any that flipped the concept around and forced the player to choose how the game got more difficult as well.

Focusing on that concept, three distinct maps, five spells to unlock and upgrade, and enemy buffs to pick at the end of each loop, I was able to scope out a project I could complete on my own that offers something new.

The addition of a global and friends leaderboard stems from my days playing classic arcade titles, and has already been a highlight for replayability among my playtesters.

I can’t wait for you all to see the game, climb the ranks, and see how many loops you can complete when the game comes out on March 9!

I’ll have a lot more to share in the coming months, so please wishlist the game to stay in the loop!

About the Game

Fight. Improve. Fall. Repeat. Each loop poses a unique challenge to overcome.

LoopMage is a minimal, streamlined horde-survivor roguelite. The question isn’t if you’ll die - it’s when. How far up the leaderboard can you climb?

Gain XP, level up, and unlock new and more powerful spells. Complete a loop of three stages to strengthen your wizard, but with one crucial twist: in this roguelite, you also have to choose the enemy's buffs!

LoopMage is a true action roguelite, meaning there's no meta progression or permanent upgrades. The only way to get a higher score and reach further loops is to make better choices during your run and improve your skills.

Level up

Customize your wizard's skillset with new spells and stat buffs every time you level up. The only limit on how strong you can become is how long you can survive.

Complete loops

You AND the enemies become more powerful as you complete loops, but you pick the upgrades. Choose wisely!

Top the leaderboard

Global and friend leaderboards show you who completed the most loops, defeated the most enemies, and survived the longest.
