About this game

What this game is, in the developer's words

We've distilled the roguelike deckbuilder into one simple choice: Draw or Stop. Push your luck and beat the odds in the vibrant post-apocalypse. Gather supplies and build your community. Survive and thrive in a vibrant eco-dystopia… or don’t. 1% chance. 100% choice. Do you feel lucky, Punk?

Lucky Punk is a roguelike deckbuilder where every turn comes with one simple decision: DRAW another card and push your luck – or STOP and play it safe. Where most card battlers hide randomness or over-use RNG, Lucky Punk always shows you the odds. In a game where every choice matters, every decision in Lucky Punk is transparent, every risk is yours, and well, every failure? Completely deserved. 💀

DRAW… OR STOP

So, you're in the post-apocalypse gathering supplies, and you gotta fight enemies by playing a card game. You start with a deck of nine cards, and the only strategy you need to care about is: ⭐DAMAGE⭐ versus 🙁EFFORT🙁.

Each round, you do one of two things:

#1. Draw a card. You get the Damage and Effort points. The card abilities play out, you know how it is. 🤷

#2. Stop and end the round. You 💢hit the enemy equal to the Damage you’ve got. Then the enemy hits you and we go to the next round.

And if you ever get too much Effort? You exhaust yourself. You lose all the Damage you’ve built up and the round ends with only you getting a punch in the face! 👊🏻

We do this until they’re down or you’re out. Got it? That’s it! That’s the game.

FAST RUNS. HARD CHOICES

It’s a fast-paced turn-based roguelite built for quick, high stakes runs, constant tension and instant emotional outcomes that will either have you win or fail spectacularly.

After all, the game always tells you how risky your next draw is. You can even check what's in your deck at any time. It's a game about managing luck, but with perfect information. There's no card counting required! Unless you’re into that, you sicko. 😘

So all you really need to do is figure out if in your heart of hearts, that 1 in 5 chance of completely crashing out is worth it or not. What are you willing to risk all your progress on? A 20% chance of failure? What about 50%? No guessing. No excuses. Just you vs. the odds.

PUNK AGAINST THE APOCALYPSE

Oh and we got here because some business idiot billionaire took it upon himself to "save the world" 🙄 and now we're all living with the consequences. But instead of the usual grimdark gloom, we’ve got a bright 2D comic style, with classic ‘Zipatone’ textures. So you now get to explore this tongue-in-cheek eco-dystopia of sulfur haze. An absolutely vibrant punk-pocalypse full of strange plants and creatures to gather, fight, survive and thrive.

And that’s your aim as one of the few idiot punks able and willing to leave the safety of the settlement to gather supplies. Bring back enough, and your community thrives, unlocking new cards and recruiting other weird punks with weirder gameplay styles! And for helping them out, they’ll risk it all, too. 🤘

BUILD WEIRD. BREAK THE ODDS

The punks aren’t the only thing that’ll change how you play. We’re building a big toybox with even bigger replay value, full of weird cards, consumables, and unexpected interactions.

The builds actually interlock with each other in different ways, so you'll find new synergies each time you play. Strategies range from normal ones like Block and Poison, to weird ones like rewarding Exhaustion and getting into Debt, to "you can do this?!?!" ones like flipping coins and marking the back of your cards to help you identify them, you dirty cheater. 😏
