About this game
What this game is, in the developer's words
Truth hides in the details. Investigate crime scenes, photograph evidence, analyze case files, and search the police database. Connect clues on the detective board, return to locations when something does not add up, and identify the culprit in each standalone case.
The camera does not lie, but the truth rarely reveals itself right away. Step into the role of a detective investigating crime scenes in Midnight City, where every detail, trace, and document can change the course of the investigation.
At the crime scene, you document evidence with your camera, inspect objects up close, and look for details others may have missed. Photos, reports, and notes help reconstruct the course of events, but they do not hand you a ready-made answer. It is up to you which leads you connect and who you ultimately hold responsible.
The analysis begins back at the office. Review case files, check photos, use the police database, and pin the most important information to the investigation board. A name, address, date, occupation, or brief mention in a report may turn out to be the missing piece of the puzzle.
If something does not add up, you can return to the crime scene and examine it again. Midnight Files focuses on calm investigation, careful observation, and connecting facts instead of leading you straight to the solution.
Your mission is simple: identify the culprit. Each case is a separate investigation with its own victim, crime scene, evidence, and suspects. Sometimes the key lies in a well-taken photo. Sometimes in a single sentence from a report. Sometimes in information hidden deep inside the database.
The truth is out there. You have to photograph it, check it, connect it, and prove it.
