Nostos - Soundtrack

The Nostos OST is produced by renowned music producer, Kevin Penkin of Made in Abyss fame, with lyrics by Emi Evans, who wrote and recorded the theme for NieR:Automata. For the first time, these two prominent musicians collaborate to bring a new immersive and spiritual experience to the world of Nostos.

Nostos is an open-world exploration-survival game that was launched December 7 on Steam. The game takes science fiction and survival elements and places the player in a real-time sandbox open world. Cinematic oriental fantasy art gives life to a fairytale-like living and breathing world in which players can explore and create at their own pace. With PC and VR cross-platform gameplay, players can team up to explore ruins, fight side by side, build camps, and ultimately, save the world. Enjoy an immersive gaming experience full of surprises. A 10km*10km seamless open world and free movement system bring unmatched freedom to players. Dozens of plants and animals form an open and dynamic ecological chain while advanced real physics technology make the environment extremely immersive.

The composer was deeply influenced by the art of Nostos and the multiplayer elements of the game. To give the music a unique Nostos quality, Kevin creatively integrated a flute quartet into the orchestra. The resulting music is unique and a perfect fit for the oriental and colorful world of Nostos. At the same time, the flute quartet sometimes plays in harmony and sometimes out of harmony, accurately portraying the sense of multiplayer interaction in Nostos.

The album features music from the game Nosto. In it, you can hear sweet murmurs of the land's native language, the sounds of days turning to nights, the struggle for survival and ideals under turbulent weather, and the long and deep breath of the land.
