About this game

What this game is, in the developer's words

A haunted projectionist’s room. A shelf of cursed films. Each reel plays a terrifying short story you must live through. Explore twisted worlds from the safety of the projection booth, or so you think...

Step into the projectionist’s booth and press play if you dare. In Reel Horror, you’re not just watching the film. You’re inside it. Step into the Silver Scream and experience terror one reel at a time.

You play as the projectionist of an old, rundown cinema with one job: screen the reels. But each dusty film you thread through the machine doesn't just flicker onto the wall. It pulls you inside. Each reel is its own standalone short horror experience, playable in just 5–10 minutes. Some stories are ghostly and surreal. Others are gory, grim, or grotesquely absurd.

The projection room is your hub. From here, you select which cursed film to run next, with new horrors spooling out with every spin of the reel. Play through 3 movies each night as you work the projector. As you explore more reels, you may find that the horror begins to leak back into the real world...

THE MOVIES

ARACHNOPHOBIA EXPRESS (1979)

Deep beneath the earth, the tracks run into darkness. A lone rider clings to a speeding minecart as shadows stir. From the webs emerges a monstrous spider, relentless and ravenous. There is no turning back. Stay on the rails... or be dragged into the brood’s embrace.

CHALK WHITE (1974)

Once a game for children, now a contest for souls. On a deserted playground, a lone child finds a chalk circle and begins to play. Marble after marble, they roll them into the ring, guided by something unseen. With every turn, the pull grows stronger... and the price for losing becomes clear.

DRUMS OF THE DAMNED (1971)

Deep in the heart of the jungle, a lone survivor stumbles from the wreckage of a doomed flight. Salvation comes not from rescue, but from ritual. Discovered by a tribe of cannibals, you must face the trial of the shaman’s drums. Match the rhythm... or join the feast.

FRED THE HEAD (1937)

Recovered from a forgotten carnival reel, this strange film shows a game of unknown origin. A crude contraption of gears and wood... and something far more sinister. The head rolls, the wheels turn, and the crowd - long dead - cheers on.

HINAHABAL (1974)

On a winding mountain road, a lone driver becomes the hunted. From above, the manananggal descends. A creature of nightmare, half-woman, half-winged terror. There is no escape but forward. Reach the end of the road... or be torn apart before dawn.

SHUDDER LAKE (1977)

A lonely lake, a restless night. An old fisherman drifts beneath the rain. Beneath the surface, something stirs. Patient, silent, waiting for him to cast his line one last time.

TEN PLATES TO MIDNIGHT (1967)

In the bowels of a forgotten kitchen, a chef toils under flickering lights and the stink of decay. The orders never stop, the clock never slows, and the ingredients... aren’t what they used to be. Tonight, perfection is demanded and failure is on the menu.

THE DEVIL'S HAND (1968)

In a dimly lit den, a desperate gambler wagers more than coin... He wagers his soul. Across the table sits Death itself, cloaked in shadow and bone. The cards are dealt, the planchette moves... and the Devil’s Hand is in play.
