Respark
Good game, but it sits 100% of the way from its all-time low to full price. It drops harder in seasonal sales. Patience pays.

About this game
What this game is, in the developer's words
A roguelite 2D platformer set in an era of error. Conquer ever-changing courses with 45 unique types of Hanabi (fireworks)!
A New Kind of Fireworks Action Game Arrives with a Bang
Handheld sparklers, poppers, firecrackers, bottle rockets, and even skyrockets—
Respark arms you with eccentric weapons known as Hanabi (fireworks) to take on 2D platformer courses in a way you’ve never seen before.
Roguelite System for Endless Replayability
Respark adopts the modern roguelite framework, ensuring that each run feels fresh. Procedurally generated terrain, enemies, and items change every time, keeping the challenge dynamic. (Certain structural elements such as course connections and difficulty tiers remain fixed.)
Will you boost your health?
Expand your collection of Hanabi?
Or take on tougher foes to level up your fireworks?
The progression path is entirely up to you.
And yes, Respark embraces the roguelite essence of permadeath. When your health hits zero, all stats reset and you’re sent back to base. (It’s called “permadeath,” but your character doesn’t actually die—only your progress resets.) It’s a demanding system—but there’s a twist.
The Bow-Down Training System
Lose to a boss? In Respark, you can bow down before them—literally. Do so, and you’ll unlock unlimited-health practice sessions against that boss.
This isn’t a continue; after practice you return to base. But the combat experience you gain is yours to keep, every time. Failures become training, and training becomes progress.
A boss familiar with roguelite hardships might just grant your request…
Animaria
The setting is Animaria, a civilization reclaimed by animals. It's a world full of talking animals.
You'll control Hanaby and Fusey, two squirrel pyrotechnicians. Their abilities are identical, but choosing between them adds a subtle personal touch.
Roguelite × AAAA Music = Synergy
Roguelites often lean toward darker atmospheres due to permadeath and punishing mechanics. Respark counters this with bright visuals, a lighthearted story, and a full soundtrack by pop composer AAAA. The synergy creates a play experience that feels distinctively upbeat, even within the roguelite genre.
Demo Version
Respark offers a special demo. Out of the eight worlds in the full release, Worlds 1, 4, and 7 are playable. That means you can push well into mid-game content and even challenge the World 7 boss.
Story progression, suspend/resume, and permanent stat saves are not included, but the demo still provides substantial gameplay. Aim for the World 7 boss and see what Respark has to offer.
