About this game

What this game is, in the developer's words

Signal Drift is a neo-noir terminal thriller where dirty contracts, encrypted mail, hostile operators, and underground markets collide. Work the command line, uncover evidence, survive betrayals, and decide who gets burned before the trace leads back to you.

Every contract leaves a trace.

Signal Drift is a dark command-line thriller about dirty work, bad information, and the people who pay you to make evidence disappear.

You are not saving the world. You are trying to survive the work.

Pick a role, take contracts from people who never use their real names, and move through a web of cold wallets, access brokers, compromised institutions, hostile networks, burner identities, and unreliable handlers. The terminal is your workspace. The inbox is never safe. The market moves before you understand why.

Work the system.

Every mission plays through systems that feel like real machines: with full-screen retro terminals, password gates, decrypted messages, suspicious files, switch consoles, state-records, medical charts, court dockets, packet timelines, market moves, and hostile operators watching from the other side.

Commands return in-world output. Records change in front of you. Logs disagree. Emails decrypt into threats, warnings, bait, and betrayal. Sometimes the safest move is not the cleanest one.

Choose your mask.

Four roles push the story in different directions:

  • Independent — take the money, protect your name, and decide how much leverage is worth carrying.
  • Hacker — chase rival operators, strange files, hostile systems..
  • Operator — work through handlers, state pressure, compartmentalized orders, and missions where the briefing is only half true.
  • Corporate — bury liabilities, weaponize compliance, and learn how boardroom crimes hide behind clean language.

Each role has long-form story arcs, conditional betrayals, different pressure points, and endings shaped by trust, heat, evidence, and the choices you make under pressure.

Fail forward.

A blown job can open cleanup contracts, blackmail pressure, identity rebuilds, damaged relationships, or new opportunities from people who know exactly how badly you need work.

Real consequences for bad decisions.

Trade what you find.

The underground market prices rumors, stolen access, cold leads, dirty records, and volatile intel in bitcoin-denominated deals. Buyers lie. Liquidity dries up. Escrow cuts into profit. A good sale can fund the next run. A bad one can put your handle in the wrong hands.
