The Corruption
Good game, but it sits 100% of the way from its all-time low to full price. It drops harder in seasonal sales. Patience pays.

About this game
What this game is, in the developer's words
Explore the crumbling megastructures of a dying digital world and lure its corrupted inhabitants into traps, cascading explosions and the barrel of your grenade launcher in this atmospheric single-player FPS.
Become an uncompliant process and fight off the corrupted digital zombies that haunt the crumbling halls of a dying digital world.
Technically a first-person shooter (it's in first person and you shoot things), The Corruption is in feel really a bit more like a liminal or backrooms game, except that you usually also have a grenade launcher to fight zombie-like enemies, instead of always running. Expect crumbling megastructures, bouts of intense combat, unexplained stories, some puzzling and platforming, sometimes meandering maps, and a little glitched Beethoven on your way to four possible endings.
Generally about 4-5 hours long, more to find every secret.
Explore
Generations of updates have corrupted the inhabitants and structures of an dying digital world. Uncover what remains through the messages left for you by those few processes that still survive in the data, while exploring surreal spaces inspired by backrooms, vaporwave and De Chirico.
Destroy
Fight fast-moving zealots and tanky partisans with traps, the Process Termination Grenade Launcher, and well-timed cascading explosions that rip through corrupted structures. But beware, sometimes the system may take away your Process Termination Grenade Launcher, leaving you with only to your wits to escape.
Ascend
It was supposed to be a digital sanctuary. It was supposed to be an escape from the external world. It was supposed to be impossible to degrade its digital perfection... Is it even possible to escape?
