About this game

What this game is, in the developer's words

The Wickie is a first-person thriller set in the 1930s Outer Hebrides. Explore handcrafted islands, uncover cosmic horrors, and survive deadly dangers. With no weapons or maps, rely on wit and courage to solve mysteries. Rich in story, art, and Lovecraftian dread, Will you uncover the truth?

A major update arrives MAY 16th 2025.
The Wickie 2.0 rebuilds and expands the original game with new puzzles, enemies, and story elements.  You’ll encounter strange machines, haunted corridors, and rewritten sequences—especially in the reimagined opening aboard the ship.

This is the definitive version.
Built for exploration. Built for mystery. Built for you.

Go where you want. Figure it out yourself.
There are no markers, no glowing paths, no objective spam.
In The Wickie, you truly explore—on foot, through tunnels, across broken bridges and rusted cable lines.
From the storm-swept cliffs to a forgotten village, the Outer Hebrides are yours to decipher.

Every route hides a story. Every shortcut has a cost.

Skulls. Switches. Conveyors. Control panels.
Puzzle design in Version 2.0 is deeper and more integrated into the environment.
Early on, you’ll reroute a skull through industrial conveyors just to open a door. Later, you’ll need to decode binary systems or manipulate magnetic lifts while being stalked by something else in the dark.

Some puzzles are mechanical. Some are spatial. Some are psychological.

The machines were meant to help.
C.A.R.L. units (and others far worse) now guard areas, process cargo, and enforce “safety protocols.”
These creatures are not scripted scares—they’re moving, thinking presences in the world.
Some may assist you. Others will hunt.

Watch the shadows. They’re not all mechanical.

About the Game

Step into 1936. The lights are going out. The sea is rising.

In The Wickie, you play as Bill Fisher, a replacement assistant on a remote island station in the Outer Hebrides.
What begins as a lonely assignment becomes a descent into mystery, control, and a slow cosmic unraveling.
The game is not a run-and-gun horror title. It’s a meditative, dread-laced mystery, with systems that reward perception over reflex.
