About this game

What this game is, in the developer's words

TheCLP Class were rebuilt as 3,300hp locomotives, with an EMD V16-645E3C engine in the 1990s. This pack features the CLP and CLF locomotives in their original (after rebuild) Australian National liveries, and 90s modified versions of the liveries!

In 1968, Commonwealth Railways (CR) placed an order for five 2237kW locomotives with Clyde Engineering to operate services on the Trans-Australian Railway from Port Pirie to Kalgoorlie. The first locomotive was completed in January 1970. CR placed two additional orders to result in a total of 17 CL Class locomotives being built, CL17 being delivered to CR in October of 1972.

In 1992, Australian National (AN) awarded a contract to Morrison-Knudsen Australia (MKA) to rebuild all of the CL Class Locomotives to two different versions of locomotive. Seven CLs were rebuilt into CLF Class Locomotives, and the remaining ten were rebuilt into CLP Class Locomotives.

The CLF and CLP Classes were rebuilt as 3,300hp locomotives, with an EMD V16-645E3C engine. Their starting tractive effort is 98,700lbs, with a continuous tractive effort of 60,634lbs at 14.9mph.

Upon rebuild, CLF locomotives were kept in the iconic Australian National livery of green and yellow. CLP locomotives introduced the Australian National ‘Passenger’ livery of green, yellow and silver, and were the only locomotives to ever receive this unique paint scheme.

This pack for Trainz features seven variants of these classic streamliners, in the various Australian National liveries, as they were in operation between 1992 and 2002:

AN Pass CLP 92+ - This variant is in the unique Australian National ‘Passenger’ livery of green, yellow and silver as rebuilt into CLP configuration.

AN Pass CLP 97+ - This variant is in the unique Australian National ‘Passenger’ livery of green, yellow and silver, with heavier weathering effects as rebuilt into CLP configuration.

AN CLF 92+ - This variant is in the Australian National green and yellow livery as rebuilt into CLF configuration.

AN CLF 95+  - This variant is in the Australian National green and yellow livery as rebuilt into CLF configuration, with heavier weathering effects and ‘Patricks’ logos applied.

AN CLF 97+ - This variant is in the Australian National green and yellow livery as rebuilt into CLF configuration, with heavier weathering and faded effects.
