About this game

What this game is, in the developer's words

CROSS is a turn based RPG game with upgrade mechanics, a passionate soundtrack, and art made with love in mind. This is a remake/soft-reboot of "Troy: The Soldier".

THIS IS THE FINAL VERSION OF "Troy: The Soldier", the original is available for free on my Itch page under RedWingedHero!

CROSS is a soft-reboot of the series of games made centered around immortality and time loops.

In this remade version you can experience unique dialogues for each boss you die against with every death being canon to the game's story, improved upon scaling and stat distribution as well as better drawn enemy sprites, the removal of all that edgy story stuff I made when I was still a teenager (now it's more-or-less kid friendly), better writing by far, better music by a very large amount, and more active battle animations.

Similar to the original, Cross follows Michael and his old allies from the original, as well as the allies from the second game all merged into one. The idea of purchasable skills like in the original, now are done better and more easy to interact with. The items have stayed very similar to the original, instead now being compressed to few.

The story is not at all like the original, but many references are made. This acts as a complete world reset since the final game, "Troy: The Iron Angel", and now acts as the first world since The Reset.

The goal is the same, find the king of the Oddities and save the world... Except now you have two choices. Two major choices. Would you kill Ron, the very first boss ever encountered in my series of games, or would you let him live? Would you back out like you could back then?

I never understood why I felt the need to let the player skip Ron in the original, but now doing so changes the game entirely.

Killing Ron gives you one half of the game with all the different locations it has, the party members it gives, and the skills you obtain. Letting him leave gives you the other half. But all realities exist as one in the end.

The only thing staying the same since the original, is my love for the characters and for the content of the game.

So if you would please give me another chance to get this right, it would make me very happy.

Thank you to all the people who gave feedback since the release of the original game. <3
